I drink a lot more than most (estimated 3-4L a day) and have frequent problems with toe and shin cramps. Do we need to increase the salt intake? Currently I only use 500mg KCL (potassium chloride) and eat salty foods.

      Sorry, didn’t get the notification

I’d try magnesium (lack thereof is usually associated with cramping up)

In Germany we have little sachets with 300 or 400 mg that can be taken directly. These are a staple in my gym-bag

But please be careful. One is usually enough. If you take to much, instant punishment is going to happen (baaaad diarrhoea… quiet embarrassing, because onset is very „spontaneous „

And I’d be careful with supplementing potassium without prior clinically diagnosed lack thereof (ie bloodwork done)

It can mess with your heart rhythm (which is something you do not want especially in light of thentragedy that happened with the poor boy in Australia)

If you are looking for a good natural source of minerals. The good old banana 🍌
